National Collegiate Rugby has officially released the women’s brackets for the 2025 Collegiate Rugby Championship, and history is being made. For the first time ever, the Women’s Premier Cup will feature an entirely varsity, school-funded field.
Brown University, the reigning national champion and two-time titleholder, enters as the No. 1 seed in the West. Brown will kick off against Adrian, with potential matchups against formidable teams like West Chester, Penn State, and Queens on the horizon. On the East side, AIC tops the bracket, alongside strong contenders New Haven, Bowdoin and Army, runners-up in 2023 and 2024.
In Women’s Division I Club, Northeastern leads the West as the top seed, while defending champion Claremont Colleges is No. 2. The East bracket is headed by Big Ten champion Purdue, with serious challenges expected from Florida State, Iowa, and UMass. With powerhouse teams across both sides, this division promises thrilling competition from start to finish.
Division II sees defending champion Wisconsin–Eau Claire back as the East’s top seed. The Blugolds should expect challenges from New Mexico State, Bowling Green, and Roger Williams, among others. Out West, Coast Guard enters as the No. 1 seed, trailed closely by Towson, Coastal Carolina, and Colorado Mesa — all ready to battle for the crown.
In Division III, Yale University returns as the defending champ and No. 1 seed in the East, while Endicott College leads the West bracket at the top seed. The Gulls and Bulldogs have met three times this spring, with Endicott winning all three. Other standout programs to watch include Niagara, Drury, and UW–Platteville, each eyeing a breakout run.
