National Collegiate Rugby is excited to announce an exclusive partnership with TagX International to introduce non-contact rugby across colleges starting in 2025. TagX provides event equipment sets to get started quickly, and offers the ultimate growth, development, fundraising and connection tool for rugby programs globally through Flag Rugby X (also called FlagX).

FlagX is a fun, fast paced, non-contact rugby game which uses innovative scoring methodology to encourage tactical thinking. It’s the ideal game to introduce new rugby participants, while current players can foster development of core fundamentals such as passing, catching, and kicking. The game is backed by a state of the art fantasy football-style software system which connects to the global rugby community.

Rugby clubs can host events that connect with their alumni through an entertaining social experience that will keep them actively connected to your club or school, while raising funds for your program.

TagX International's U.S. and global brand ambassadors include three-time Olympian and two-time World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year, Perry Baker, and former USA 7s International and World Rugby Commentator, Dallen Stanford.

"FlagX is by far the most fun non-contact game that I have ever played and we're delighted to assist in the growth of rugby by partnering with the fantastic NCR organization. We're excited to provide an opportunity for new and existing rugby players, plus assist colleges to connect with alumni, while ensuring their sustainability. Perry and I can't wait to visit or talk with the NCR teams in the coming months!" - Dallen Stanford

To kick off the partnership with TagX, a youth flag rugby match will be held at the SaberCats Stadium during the Men’s National Championships on Saturday, December 14th. Youth players under 16 will experience a fast paced flag game on a top tier, professional rugby field, right before Sam Houston State and Kansas University clash in the Lone Star Bowl.

NCR CEO Jeremy Treece commented on the development, stating, “Our partnership with TagX International is a significant victory for college rugby. Our goal is to expand the presence of college rugby in America. TagX’s program offers an excellent fundraising and training resource for our teams, while also serving as a valuable enhancement to campus recreation.”

Sign up your U16 player for the free youth flag match.

NCR and TagX International will provide more details on how to get involved with Flag X in the spring, including instructional webinars that will take place early in the new year.
