June 17 - Following a multi-month review, National Collegiate Rugby will be introducing new registration and competition management platforms commencing with the Fall 2024 season. The new tools will replace the SportsEngine platform that has been used for the past four years, and provide members with more functionality and better alignment with college rugby’s future needs.

NCR selected Sport:80 as the new registration platform after a thorough proposal process that included several global service providers. Based in the United Kingdom, Sport:80 works with large sports organizations such as USA Track & Field, USA Water Polo and USA Climbing.

The Sport:80 platform meets all of our current requirements and delivers several enhancements including:

  • User interface and navigational improvements
  • New conference and club dashboards to track team registration progress
  • Digital membership cards
  • Streamlined process for creating Player Eligibility Verification Forms and rosters.

While members will be asked to set up new profiles, all member historical data will be migrated from SportsEngine to Sport:80. SafeSport and background check histories will be maintained for coaches.

Exposure Events will power NCR’s new competition system including schedules, scores and conference standings. With an NCR-branded app, Exposure was successfully piloted during the Women’s All Star Tournament and fully deployed during the Collegiate Rugby Championship.

The app will be extended to cover the conference regular season and available to support conference playoffs and other tournaments. Using the app, fans will be able to follow their favorite teams and more easily track scores and conference tables.

In the coming weeks, the NCR team will be implementing role-specific support to ensure commissioners, coaches and players have appropriate information about the new systems.
