December 3 - Boise State shut out Kent State Saturday to win a second-straight Lone Star Bowl, 20-0. Kent State was impressive defensively, especially as they repeatedly turned back the Broncos from their own goal line.

Even with two held-up score attempts in the second half, the Golden Flashes could not keep Boise off the scoreboard, thanks in part to the running attack of Boise scrumhalf Leelynn Huett. The Broncos overcame two yellow cards and a red to bring home their second consecutive Lone Star Bowl trophy from Houston.
