Position Overview

The Administrator of the Atlantic Coast Rugby Conference (ACRC) is responsible for overseeing the administration, growth, and strategic direction of the conference. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for member institutions, ensuring that the conference operates in alignment with the values, rules, and mission of National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) and other governing bodies.

Founding institutions making up the ACRC are: Belmont Abbey College, Kutztown University, Queens University of Charlotte, St. Bonaventure University, Walsh University and Wheeling University.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Governance: Provide strategic vision and guidance to enhance the development and competitiveness of the conference.

Operations & Compliance: Ensure compliance with NCR and conference policies, eligibility rules, and safety protocols, while coordinating conference scheduling, playoffs, and championships.

Membership Engagement: Act as a liaison between member institutions, NCR, and other rugby stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and collaboration.

Financial Oversight: Develop and manage the conference budget, including securing sponsorships and overseeing financial reporting.

Marketing & Communications: Promote the conference through media relations, digital marketing, and social media while enhancing the visibility of member teams.

Event Management: Organize and oversee conference events, including meetings, tournaments, and championships.

Disciplinary & Appeals Process: Enforce conference rules, manage disputes, and oversee the disciplinary process in coordination with NCR.

Development & Growth: Expand the conference by recruiting new teams, supporting grassroots initiatives, and developing long-term strategic plans.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and administrative experience, preferably in sports management or collegiate athletics.
  • In-depth knowledge of rugby and the collegiate rugby landscape.
  • Experience in event planning, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing, website publishing and social media management is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a rugby administrator, coach, or official.
  • Familiarity with NCR rules and collegiate rugby governance structures.
  • Experience in securing sponsorships and partnerships.

Compensation

The Commissioner will receive an annual stipend as set by the member institutions.
