The NCR All-Star Championships bring together the top talent from respective NCR regions and conferences across the United States. NCR currently offers All-Star Championships for Men (XVs) and Women (7s). NCR also offers Women’s Select Side XVs and 7s teams. The All-Star Championships and Select Side programs were created to establish a high performance pathway for NCR players.

We strive to provide services that will enhance the experience of our teams and players. The goal of the All-Star competition is to provide athletes from teams, not traditionally competing in NCR National Championship pathways, the opportunity to participate in a competition higher than that of their local conference play.

The events also provide NCR coaches the opportunity to add to their development by coaching at the representative level.

Information on All-Star events and selection process will be shared when it is available for the 2020-2021 competitive cycle.

NCR Women’s Select Side programs for both 7s and XVs is made possible by the generous support of Penn Mutual. The goals of the program are to provide players with the opportunity to compete together at the highest level, to increase the visibility of the talented players in NCR, and to provide these players with another pathway to the USA Women’s National Teams.

The Penn Mutual/NCR Women’s Select Side programs are open to all NCR Players. Coaches can complete the Player Recommendation Form to refer players at anytime during the year for either the 7s or XVs programs.

“We know that there are exceptional players who are playing on some of our less successful teams, and we want to give those teams and their conferences, the chance to showcase these talented athletes.”

Bryn Chivers, Women’s Select Side Coach

The NCR Men’s XVs All-Star Championship consists of All-Star teams from five different regions across the United States. The event was created to establish a high performance pathway and help foster growth in this area for NCR players.

“NCR has a lot of really talented rugby players that often get overlooked. Some players may play on a team that never gets to a playoff; some are on a team where geographically no scouts ever attend. By bringing all these fantastic players to one event, we can celebrate, evaluate and recognize these young players’ achievements.”

Jeremy Treece, NCR CEO and former Men’s Conference Commisioner

The NCR Women’s 7s All-Star Championship consists of All-Star teams which represent different conferences across the United States. The event was created to establish a high performance pathway and help foster growth in this area for NCR players.

“Women’s All Star Program is a shining achievement of programming in college rugby. This is a collaborative program  showcasing our top talent on bigger stages pushes our competition forward and improves the quality of rugby across the board. NCR is committed to developing the game for women by giving inclusive opportunities to all of our members.”

Angela Smarto, NCR Interim Women’s Director
