NCR strives to set affordable levels for our players while ensuring the organization provides exceptional services, safe environments and high-quality competitions. For the first time, all member fees will be invested directly into the support and growth of college rugby.

NCR offers two payment structures for our members. These options help meet the diverse preferences of our programs and make it easier for clubs to obtain funding support from their schools and alumni.

  • Plan 1: Designed for teams where the school will pay the team dues and the individual members pay the player dues.
  • Plan 2: Designed for teams who receive little support from the school and have to raise funds for all expenses.  This allows for teams to register and play for a minimal initial outlay.

NCR Protects all Referees

National Collegiate Rugby has a long history of providing quality referee coverage and working closely with both referees and local referee organizations.

In establishing the new NCR insurance program, we strived to provide broad coverage for referees and make it easy for them to participate in the program. We consulted with referee organizations and obtained important advice from our insurance consultant, Lockton.

As part of NCR’s insurance program, we are pleased to provide the following features for referees:

  • no-cost liability and accident insurance
  • coverage that does not require NCR membership
  • indemnification for the referee organization and its officers
  • coverage for any match that includes at least one NCR team no matter where the match is played (in the US, Canada or overseas)
  • effective for all NCR matches after August 1, 2020.

Our website provides more information.

Referees do not need to be registered with NCR to be eligible for matchday insurance.  However, we encourage all referees to join our membership community at no cost. As NCR members, referees will receive updates regarding collegiate rugby, have access to the scheduling portal and be connected to NCR’s planned competition management system.

For free NCR membership, referees can sign up through our membership portal or review the registration FAQs.

MARC D2 Teams Join NCR

The Mid-Atlantic Rugby Conference (MARC) is pleased to announce their commitment to the NCR Open Division D2 Competition beginning Fall 2020. The MARC Conference was created in 2012 to operate as a regional collegiate competitive organization for D1AA, D2 and Small College.

MARC administers over 50 College and University rugby programs, and 2,000 student athletes, in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. The MARC mission is to administer and promote competitive rugby, player and coach development, player safety, and community service.

When asked about the MARC commitment to NCR, Commissioner John Gulden commented “We are excited about the opportunities provided by NCR for our D2 men’s teams, we look forward to the continued relationship first established with our small colleges. We are confident in our decision because NCR is dedicated to growing college rugby.”

The MARC currently has 10 D2 team’s men’s teams spread across Pennsylvania and New Jersey
