Collegiate Development Summit: Conference Commissioners

Collegiate Development Summit | Presented by National Collegiate Rugby

Conference Commissioners

January 15-17, 2027 | Orlando, Florida | $25 per commissioner | All Stars matches included | Space is limited

Three workshops for the people who run NCR conferences, with men’s conferences led by Brad Dufek and women’s conferences led by Alycia Washington.

Collegiate Rugby All Stars 2027

The invitation

Built for the people who run NCR conferences

College rugby holds together because conference commissioners do the unglamorous work: fixtures, eligibility questions, playoff paths, club support, and the quiet decisions that keep a season honest.

The National Collegiate Rugby Conference Commissioners Summit puts that work in one room, the same weekend the nation’s high-performance collegiate players gather for the NCR All Stars in Orlando.

This is not a lecture series and it is not a status meeting. It is three focused workshops: men’s conferences with Brad Dufek and women’s conferences with Alycia Washington, covering best practices, purpose and competition alignment, the vision going forward, and professionalizing the administrative workspace.

Sign up today. Space is limited. The workshop fee is $25 and includes free admission to All Stars weekend matches.

Why this summit

Why now

NCR’s 2027 All Stars weekend moves to Central Florida as a single men’s and women’s festival.

Many conference commissioners will already be on site with their players and coaches. These workshops sit inside that weekend so the people who run the conferences can leave with a shared language, rather than another year of solving the same problems in isolation.

NCR’s sport thrives because of conference commissioners. The next chapter of the college game depends on conferences that are aligned on purpose, clear on competition, and professional in how the administrative work gets done.

That is the brief for these three sessions: practical, specific to your side of the game, and built to take home.

Two rooms

Same work

Men’s and women’s conferences meet separately so the conversation stays honest to the competition each group actually runs. The four themes are shared. The application is not.

Men’s Conferences

Led by Brad Dufek | NCR Director of Men’s Rugby

3:00-5:00 p.m.

Sunday, January 17

Workshop content

What the three sessions cover

The same four themes run through both rooms. Session order may flex; the work will not.

  • Best practices: what strong conferences already do well, and what every conference can steal without waiting for a perfect year.
  • Purpose and competition alignment: why the conference exists, how divisions and fixtures serve that purpose, and how playoff pathways stay honest.
  • Vision going forward: the next two seasons of NCR competition, club development, and what commissioners should expect from the national office.
  • Professionalizing the administrative workspace: calendars, communication, eligibility questions, records, and the systems that keep volunteer-heavy conferences from running on inbox heroics.

Leadership

The leads

The workshops are led by the NCR directors who work directly with these competitions and conference structures.

Alycia Washington

Women’s conferences

NCR Director of Women’s Rugby. Former USA Eagle with 26 caps, two-time Collegiate All-American at UConn, and co-founder of the XV Foundation. She oversees NCR women’s playoffs, 7s qualifiers, and championship events across D1, D2, and D3, and works directly with conference commissioners and university partners.

Brad Dufek

Men’s conferences

NCR Director of Men’s Rugby. With NCR since 2020 and now in the role full time across all four men’s divisions and 7s. He has spent those years working with conference commissioners to build divisional competitions and national championship pathways.

Audience

Who should be in the room

Register for the room that matches the conference you run.

  • Sitting NCR conference commissioners, men’s or women’s
  • Deputy or incoming commissioners taking on the role for 2027
